Mahmoud specializes in representing private clients and companies in disputes in UAE state courts in various areas of law including criminal, administrative, migration law. He is known in the legal community as one of the most influential lawyers in MENA countries. He is the author of numerous publications on the judiciary and the enforcement of judgments in the Middle East.

Mahmoud advises international private clients, specializing in complex legal matters, legal security, monetization of assets, mitigation of claims risk, exceptional citizenship procedures, residency through investment, legal and business risk management, asset protection, structuring of inheritance processes, regulatory compliance, project and corporate governance, and corporate governance structures. He also provides art consulting, strategic planning, relocation and client advocacy services.

Mahmood is a Chevening Fellow and a recognized expert in political economy, foreign direct investment (FDI), governance, risk and compliance (GRC), economic development, art consulting and Islamic jurisprudence.

Prior to founding Selim & Bose, Mahmoud was Regional Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Kobre & Kim.
