We were approached by a well-known developer who was facing difficulties in obtaining a license for architectural design activities. Specifically, the company's chief engineer was required to provide proof of education in the field of "Civil Engineering". However, in the country where he received his education, such a category did not exist in the engineering curriculum. The Ministry of Economy and Dubai Municipality were denying the company the license.
UPPERCASE LEGAL Lawyers studied the issue and prepared a detailed justification, which helped convince regulatory authorities of the factual equivalence of the specified categories of engineering education.
As a result, taking into account negotiations, we were able to obtain a license for the construction of apartment buildings in just 1.5 months, and the client was able to start expanding in the UAE market.
The project was worked on by managing partner Alexander Kukuev, head of international legal practice Ratmir Proskurnov, and senior associate Alexandra Khokhlova.
